Claxton Farm has opened a new event facility to replace the farm’s well-known even barn that was destroyed in a November 2009 fire. Over the years, the barn had housed countless weddings, parties and other events.

The fire was determined to be arson. I haven’t heard of any updates as far as the investigation. I don’t think anyone’s been charged in connection with the fire.

Here are a couple of updates from the Claxton Farm blog:

Team! Yesterday, April 28th, we received our official Certificate of Occupancy for the new event barn at Claxton Farm! Our first wedding of the season is SATURDAY, so we definitely took it down to the wire.   Many photos to come over the next few weeks.   We’ll also be updating the website soon!

Thanks to all of you for your continued support!  Big things to come!

And there’s this, posted May 3:

Here are just a few amateur photos from our first event at Claxton Farm on May 1!    The event was a HUGE success and is the first of many!

Website updates and professional photos to come very soon!
