City revokes Roguefest permit at request of Asheville Police Department; Roguefest on the move

Roguefest is the locally organized musical version of Moogfest 2010. From loyal reader Murphy:

I didn’t know if you had heard this yet or not.

Apparently the APD requested the City revoke the Roguefest permit – down in the River Arts District because of concerns that they would not be able to control the crowds descending on Ashvegas this weekend.

According to Roguefest facebook page, the APD (and City of A) think that because a few thousand people indicated they were coming to the event there were/are fears that there would not be enough law enforcement to handle everything going on: halloween, breast cancer walk, moogfest, roguefest, superhero race etc.

So now the Roguefest is being held in Fairview at 194 Emma’s Grove Road ….. which appears to be a big field on Google maps, and camping is now allowed at the site.

The interesting thing is that you have to call to find out the location… ??

I think they should change the name to Roguestock.

ALERT!!! ROGUEFEST IS MOVING (15 min from downtown)!!! THE CITY AND POLICE DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW FACEBOOK WORKS AND HAVE FREAKED OUT ABOUT THE # OF INVITES AND REVOKED THE PERMIT!!!! DO NOT GO TO RIVERSIDE DR!!!

TICKET HOLDERS HAVE 3 OPTIONS:

1) come party and camp at new location

2) if you were a moog attendee only wanting rogue tix for camping you can come camp at new location OR I have a house with fenced in yard on Haywood Rd you can camp in.
