The Asheville Citizen-Times today prints a four-paragraph story on former Executive Editor Susan Ihne’s $15 million lawsuit against Publisher Randy Hammer and corporate owner Gannett. The Citizen-Times published its brief account two days after the lawsuit was filed in Buncombe County Superior Court.

Who else is covering the story? Well, the Mountain Xpress had it, as did Gannett Blog. I also saw it over at Romenesko’s blog.

    On the List:

"I have heard other stories from Hammer’s former secretary and the General Manager of Pisgah Mtn. News (both women over 40) of the yelling and talking down tactic’s. "

That is true and I have heard the same. Do they even know about the law suit?
Somebody needs to let them know so Susan can get their support.

Time to bring the man down and all the puppets in advertising as well. Show them the door people. We should put some empty boxes outside the publishers door and the Ad Directors door to give them a hint.

It is interesting that the list of us that were let go Dec. 2nd (from AC-T) were mostly women (and several men) over 40 yrs. old with many years of service. Maybe we should all file an age discrimination lawsuit. Several very close to retirement. I have heard other stories from Hammer’s former secretary and the General Manager of Pisgah Mtn. News (both women over 40) of the yelling and talking down tactic’s. Maybe they can testify for Susan.
