Charlotte Copy Data, one of the region’s largest office-equipment dealers, is selling its operations to a national company, according to sources familiar with the plans.

Kal Kardous, owner of Charlotte Copy Data, has scheduled an announcement of the sale plan for Tuesday morning at the Charlotte Chamber.

Kardous couldn’t be reached for comment.

A chamber spokeswoman won’t elaborate on the notice of Kardous’ announcement, scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chamber office at 330 S. Tryon St.

Charlotte Copy Data, an office-equipment company based in Charlotte, recently celebrated 20 years in business. Last year, the company had $47 million in sales, up from $40 million in 2006. The company, founded in 1988 by Kardous, has offices in Charlotte, Asheville, Fayetteville, Winston-Salem, Greensboro, Raleigh, Hickory, Gastonia and the Greenville-Spartanburg, S.C., area.
