Poses w/ Moses: 'Give peace a chance'

The date for the 2010 edition of Brewgrass is Sept. 18, according to the Brewgrass web site. Tickets will go on sale online on the first Saturday of May. This event always sells out, so get your tickets early.

Each year in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, we gather over 40 American breweries to showcase more than 120 different beers. We add a great lineup of national and regional bluegrass musicians that, in the past, has included such notables as Cadillac Sky, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Dry Branch Fire Squad, J.D. Crowe, The Osborne Brothers, Norman Blake, Tony Trischka, Valerie Smith, Tony Furtado, Yonder Mountain String Band, and Sons Of Ralph. We also feature a variety of area food vendors and plenty of water.

But Asheville’s newest beer festival is the one everyone is waiting to hear more about. It’s called the Beer City Brewfest. Some tickets were actually sold at last year’s Brewgrass, despite the fact that a venue and a date had yet to be officially announced.

Over the past few weeks, the date of June 5 has been tossed around, although somebody said that wasn’t confirmed. And I have yet to hear of a confirmed venue.

So, can anyone finally put the guessing game to rest and give us a confirmed date and venue for the Beer City Brewfest, and a date as to when tickets will go on sale?

Just got off the phone with organizer Jimi Rentz. He verified the date as June 5 for Spring Beer Fest, but said the location and date for ticket sales have not been verified. I’ll let y’all know when I know.
