From stopthelarchmont.wordpress.com:

In addition to receiving over $7.5 million in other funding for the Larchmont, the developer was awarded $500,000 from the County Housing Trust Fund for the project.

From the County Housing Trust Fund guidelines:

D. Eligible Use of Funds:

Funding assistance is limited to projects within Buncombe County but

outside of the City of Asheville limits. Applicants who are interested in

developing within the City limits should apply to the City of Asheville

Trust Fund Program. (pg. iv)

Ash, can you keep us posted on the status of the Larchmont project and the neighborhood's effort to get more openness and accountability in the way the project was railroaded through City Council. Quite a contrast to the Council's behavior on a similar Kenilworth project. Thanks for calling attention to this blog. Some of the info it carries is quite eye-opening.
