Just stuff that I’ve come across that looked interesting:
Blue Ridge Weddings blog: All about weddings and stuff.
Smoky Mountain Hiking blog: The latest entry reminds us that the Mountain Sports Festival in Asheville is coming up the weekend of May 29.
Kid Friendly Asheville blog: Latest entry has a plan for Easter cupcakes.
Perhaps most exciting of all is news from the High Country Press that several UNC Tar Heels will be at Appalachian State University’s Holmes Convocation Center as part of the Carolina Barnstorming tour. I found this via the all-seeing blog Boone Web:
On Thursday, April 9, the Carolina Barnstorming Tour will roll into the High Country for a stop at ASU’s Holmes Convocation Center with none other than UNC stars Tyler Hansbrough and Danny Green leading the Tar Heel-heavy team into action. The squad also includes UNC’s Bobby Frasor and Mike Copeland, as well as Duke University seniors Greg Paulus and David McClure. Former Wake Forest star and Harlem Globetrotter Antwan Scott was also recently added to the team.
The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. General admission tickets to the Carolina Barnstorming Tour are $10 in advance and $12.50 at the door. VIP tickets are already sold out.
Taking on the Carolina Barnstorming team will be the High Country All-Stars, a team comprised of the best players from colleges and universities throughout the region including ASU, Lees-McRae, UNC-Asheville, Western Carolina University and others. ASU players suiting up for the awesome display of basketball talent include senior guard Eddie Bermudez and former Mountaineer standout Jeremy Clayton.
Wow! Sounds like a blast, and a great ticket price. If the Tar Heels win on Monday night, I might have to make a road trip.
