Chapel Hill, NC, United States, 08/28/2009 – Biltmore™ announces a new partnership endeavor between the estate-inspired Biltmore™ For your home brand and Encore, a fine furnishings and accessories company distributed by Sarreid Ltd.

A partnership between Biltmore™ and Encore, distributed by Sarreid, Ltd., will introduce a stunning collection of home furnishings and accessories from Biltmore in replica this October.

“Finally home design aficionados may incorporate the impressive style of George Vanderbilt’s 19th century estate by bringing these classic designs to life for today’s homeowners,” said Tim Rosebrock, VP & GM, Biltmore’s Licensed Products Division. “Encore has launched a business based upon precision craftsmanship and manufacturing excellence. We are delighted to offer these reproductions to discriminating home décor retailers and professionals across the nation.”

The first collection is named “Gentleman’s Pursuits” and includes striking accent and occasional home furnishings inspired by historic Biltmore House. Constructed in 1895 by George Vanderbilt in the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC, Biltmore House is considered to be America’s Largest Home ® and is furnished with the original collection Vanderbilt procured in his world travels.

Encore, launched in 2008, specializes in the fine crafting of high-end furniture and accessories. The venture is headed by Stelvio Guglielmi, Gerry Paglinawan and David Pemberton, all formerly of Theodore Alexander.

“Authentically reproducing the unique pieces found in Biltmore House is truly an amazing endeavor,” said Stelvio Guglielmi. “Our craftspeople bring a wealth of knowledge and old-world skill to their work and our state of the art facilities ensure quick delivery, the highest level of quality control, and excellent pricing for furniture of this caliber.”

Encore is distributed in North America by Sarreid, Ltd. With over 40 years of proven excellence, Sarreid’s home offices are located in Wilson, NC, with sourcing from Vietnam, India and China. Sarreid operates two showrooms with over 30,000 square feet of display space. The Encore showroom is located at 301 N. Hamilton Street in High Point, NC.

"…some revenue at a company that needs it badly"?

    Don’t they all?

Incidentally, Biltmore’s got a pretty sucessful line of products at Belk.

didn’t biltmore try a line of furniture and home decor items a few years ago? i recall it being sold in dept. stores and online but ended because it didn’t sell. i honestly don’t think the decor and furniture at the biltmore house is that unique or inspiring that ordinary consumers would want to have it in their own homes.

biltmore has never done well with licensing and merchandising and i can’t imagine this one doing any better.

perhaps it is just another way to gain some revenue at a company that needs it badly.
