winter-storm_march_2014Get out and enjoy this weekend’s warmth and sunshine, because the bottom’s gonna drop out.

Weather forecasters are calling for a high of 70 in Asheville on Saturday. Then a cold front moves in – some forecasters are calling it a classic Nor’easter – and the high temp on Tuesday is expected to be 40. Also look for about 1 inch of snow in Asheville, and more in higher elevations and in North Carolina counties along the Tennessee border.

Ray’s Weather is my go-to for forecasting.

I also like the detail that Brad Panovich delivers on his FB page. He’s based in Charlotte, but has a good eye for Western North Carolina:

Saturday looks even better with highs in the mid to upper 70s with a few clouds and a late day shower. Don’t look ahead to Sunday into early next week because winter returns, and we will see a huge drop in temperatures.

At ncpiedmontweather.com, there’s talk of the Nor’easter.

This will be unlike any storm seen in decades as it will occur so late as a matter of fact it has been since 1983 that most areas have seen snow this late in the season and unless something drastic occurs it is on it way for early next week.
