The difference between Long Shoals and say, I-40 at Exit 44, is that most of the project can be built without maintaining existing traffic. It is widening to one side and the bridge is set up to be an addition rather than widening in one place. The bridge at the Mtn. Home exit was rebuilt in place so it was a real pain in the ass to switch traffic around as different parts of the work progressed.
Anyway, 191 is going to be huge. I-26 bisects Biltmore land, they actually considered a tunnel under the highway to access the original Biltmore Park area. South Asheville will surpass the downtown/west area in population in ten years.
