On the video he touched her first. On the arm. The hate in him is so not Christian. He deserved to be bitch slapped royally for his insults.
I would like to know why so called "Christians" do not like the preachers?? do you have a Biblical reason for not liking them?? and why do you think these preachers were "radical christians"?? because they express their religious views?? I do not know the preacher that got slapped personally, but how do you know if he wanted to get slapped or not?? READ LUKE 6:22-23 Did anyone see the group from warningsofwrath.com? if not check out their website!
Yes, Jason has a big ego and his lack of response about the EMT debacle shows it very clearly. I’m guessing Gannett owns at least a controlling interest in tins blog. Too many similarities to the Citizen-Times to be otherwise.
coming from another Jesus believer, this guy deserved it. i’d have slapped him too.
Preacher: 1, slapper: 0. He got exactly what he wanted.
Intolerance breeds intolerance.
It’s getting hard to tell where Ashvegas the blog ends, and the Asheville Citizen-Times begins. And, vice-versa.
I know this street festival is good for our town – but I’m glad I stayed away! Everyone in this video seems totally crazy. Lets all hope they’re both from Florida!
This is why I don’t take my family, or visiting guest to Bele Chere. It is an embarrassment to Asheville to have all these radical Christians ruining what could be a great event.
What is the difference between a Radical Christian and a Radical Muslim?
Eric Rudolf’s views were no different then Osama Bin Laden’s.
That poor confused kid in the background…
I would have charged her ass with assault. If you don’t want to listen, keep on walking. I don’t care how hateful she thought his words were — keep your hands to yourself. If he’d hit HER, there’d be a protest under a magnolia tree.
It’s really hard not to hate people.
I was surprised you didn’t take a picture of this and post it and your thoughts. Jason, I read your site everyday, but I don’t enjoy it like I used to. The local news that one else picks up or you beat them to it is great, but ever since your on the radio and in the ACT, ashvegas really lacks something. I think your ego may have gotten in the way. Just my thoughts.

A loyal reader, just not so much anymore…
Of course you all realize, don’t you, that all this attention the street preachers are getting only ensures they will be back for next year’s Bele Chere, and that there will be even more of them.
Not giving them the attention they so desperately crave is the best way the deal with them.
The preaching this year was distracting and took away from he festival. I witnessed several such events and arguments and it created more hostel environment. Freedom of speech is great, maybe just have one section of the festival dedicated to to "this" type of religious expression and not spread all over as it was this year.
