wickedweed_anniversary_2013Asheville’s red-hot Wicked Weed Brewing has announced details of a party to celebrate its one-year anniversary. Here are the details:

During the weekend of December 27th and 28th, Wicked Weed Brewing is throwing an anniversary party to celebrate our first year in business. This party will start Friday at 3pm and will last through Saturday closing.

On Friday, we will be tapping a brewers cask every hour from 3 pm – 8 pm, each created by a different house brewer. At 9 p.m. we will be tapping our Anniversary Barleywine as the official kick off to the celebration. This is happening downstairs in our tasting room.

On Saturday will have live music happening most of the day. A bluegrass lunch will be taking place upstairs from 1pm – 4pm. Join us as we host local bluegrass musicians in a jam session. This will be happening in the upstairs tent.

From 5 pm – 7 pm head brewer Luke Dickinson and head of brewing operations Walt Dickinson will be hosting Barrel Banter: Let’s Talk Wood. This ticketed event will be an open discussion session about barrel aging and what has been learned in our one year of business. Anyone attending this event should expect to taste clean and sour beers that are going through various stages of the barrel aging process. Tickets cost $20 plus fees and are available at https://barrelbanter.eventbrite.com. This event will be held in the upstairs tent.
Downstairs there will be a specialty beer tapping at 7pm which will feature a few unexpected guests to help kick off the tapping and the evening party. Starting at 8pm we will have Wicked Weed staff DJ’ing some killer tunes for the night.

And we haven’t forgotten out the upstairs late night. We will be featuring live music from 7:30pm – 1:00am. Two local bands will be breaking down funky beats. Check Facebook to find out more information about the bands when it becomes available.

Not going to be in Asheville at that time? No problem! We are throwing a party across the state. Get over to one of the four participating bottle shops to celebrate with us on that day. We will have specialty beers on tap as well as glassware and other goodies. Parties start at 5pm in each shop. Contact the bottle shops for more details.
