Oktoberfest fans 2

Last year was the first year of the Asheville Downtown Association’s new Oktoberfest celebration, and lemme tell ya, it was some rowdy good times. The vibe was perfect, and much beer was consumed. It was so great, in fact, that I called it my favorite beer fest of 2009. Now the Beer Guy aka Tony Kiss at the Asheville Citizen-Times, has info on this year’s edition. I can’t wait:

The Asheville Downtown Association has just announced the details for its second annual Oktoberfest celebration, set for Oct. 9 on Wall Street. They’ll be serving brews by Asheville Brewing Company, Craggie, Green Man, Highland, French Broad and Pisgah. Many of them will be making marzen or Oktoberfest beers for the season.

The The Stratton Mountain Boys will return with Oktoberfest music, and Cucina 24, Jack of the Wood, and The Market Place will be serving up some yummy German food.

Tickets are $25 and will go on sale Sept. 1 at at at ashevilledowntown.org.

Promoting "rowdiness" in downtown Asheville (or any other place) is not cool!
