The Asheville Cultural Arts Center LLC located on Merrimon Avenue has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, according to paperwork filed in federal court in the western district of North Carolina.

The paper work is light on details in terms of exactly how much money the center owes. And as far as I know, the center continues to operate. I’m working on following up to get more information.

I also see that the couple who owns the Flowers of Asheville florist shop on Patton Avenue has filed for bankruptcy. More on that as I get it.

What is the "Asheville Cultural Arts Center" on Merrimon Ave? Some context would be helpful.
Rushing to publish these kinds of stories, even though they come from public documents, without comments from those involved or context from the reporter/blogger seems to veer towards "tabloid blogging."
