Just over the past week or so, the Avett Brothers have launched Avett Nation, as well as a Twitter presence. They’re building up toward the release of their new album this summer, a new album produced by Rick Rubin and partially recorded here in Asheville.

Welcome to Avett Nation, our official street team page!

We will be cooking up all sorts of rewards and exclusives just for Avett Nation members, in turn for work that you do on this site. For each task that you complete, you will be rewarded with points. The more points, the better the reward! A task could be anything from putting up posters to posting a bulletin on MySpace or even just telling a friend about this site (check out the “objectives” section for more on that).

We’ve always appreciated all the work you’ve done to help spread the word and are excited to finally have a place for it to be documented and rewarded. Please have fun with this site. This isn’t a competition to see who the biggest or best fan is, but a community that’s about taking our grassroots following — for which we have only all of you to thank — to the next level.
