The Avett Brothers will play two nights at The Orange Peel in December. The Beer Guy has the news here.

The Avett Brothers, the fast-rising Americana band featuring brothers Scott and Seth Avett, will do a two-night stand, Dec. 28-29 at The Orange Peel club in downtown Asheville.

Tickets will go on sale Sept. 21, the band has announced. Price was not announced, and the show is not yet listed on the Orange Peel Web site, but is on the Avett Brothers site, www.theavettbrothers.com

The North Carolina-based Avetts morphed out of a rock band, and by 2002, with bassist Bob Crawford in the group, had evolved into their current acoustic Americana sound. With non-stop touring, they’ve become one of the region’s most popular acts, and have taken their music across the country. Their last area performance was in May at the Asheville Music Jamboree festival.

Sweet! You know, I finally heard the Avett Brothers for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and I nearly broke a sweat just listening to them. Should be just the ticket for a cold December night.
