Asvhegas readers: Seth Avett ran the Citizen-Times Half-Marathon

I’ve had a couple of Ashvegas reader ask me if I had heard that Seth Avett of the Avett Brothers had run the Asheville Citizen-Times Half Marathon on Saturday. At first, I dismissed the notion as just another false celebrity sighting around town. But I heard it again, and again, so I went looking.

I have yet to find photo evidence, but I did find this in the race results:

TIMOTHY AVETT 30 CONCORD NC 2:58:30 13:38 2:56:52

The Avett Brothers are from Concord, and Seth Avett has recorded a solo project under his full name, Timothy Seth Avett. Also, I reported last week that Scott Avett was spotted in downtown Asheville, and word on the street was that the Avetts were doing some more recording work at Echo Mountain.

That’s what I’ve got so far.

I don't get the fascination with this music group. They are ok, but reallh nothing stellar. Yet, there is so much hype about them especially in AVL. I have mentioned them to friends elsewhere and nobody has even heard of them. Guess its just a local celeb kinda thing.

saw him for sure. lookin real skinny & beardless wearing a white wifebeater and fancy nikes. jogging up broadway with his blonde wife who had some shinguard on her leg and also fancy shoes.
