Some tidbits:
-Snow: It snowed in Asheville this morning. Romantic Asheville
has photos.
–Eno: From loyal reader Jen:
My friend Geary Yelton, who is a freelance electronic music journalist, says that Brian Eno loves Asheville and will be hanging around for three more days. He’s also told me that Eno rarely travels — well, he shuttles between NYC and London, and that’s it. I think this is so cool, and a big deal. Asheville captures Eno’s heart!
–Celebrity sightings: Someone said they spotted Eno eating at Plant restaurant. Amon Tobin was spotted eating at Boca. O, and David Dye is reportedly in town recording some stuff for an upcoming World Cafe.
–Trial: The first-degree murder trial I tweeted about on Thursday will get fully underway on Monday. The jury has been seated.
–Holly Headrick: The WLOS anchor/reporter is newly engaged, according to sources. And has anyone seen Charu?
–Moogfest tidbits: Moby was killer Friday night at the Asheville Civic Center. Miss the concert? You can listen to it all online at NPR, which recorded Moby’s concert at the Asheville Civic Center. Great music, great costumes. Love the streamers they used to decorate the Civic Center hall. One thing I didn’t like as the set-up for selling drinks. You had to have cash to buy a wristband, and cash to buy a drink close to the action. And the wristbands weren’t being sold anywhere near the drink stands. Crazy. My post-Moogfest, early morning dinner: spaghetti with vienna sausage. Frackin’ awesome!
–Ashvegas: My take on the Matt Mittan/Agnes Cheek situation. And my take on the Janet Moore/Mission Health controversy.
