They consider ore than the size of the City when placing their stores …. they also consider the population in a radius from that City as well as the socio-economic averages of that population as well.
designers45, Urban Outfitters sees a population base to support a store. seems that other chains, such as Crate & Barrel, might, too.
The is absolutely no way that Crate & Barrel store is coming to Asheville. We simply do not have the population base to support their business model for retail. This is a crazy rumor that is not going to materialize.
I can’t believe the Grove Arcade space would even be close to being large enough for a Crate & Barrel. It’s not much larger than the size of a large convenience store. This would also be, by far, the smallest market that the chain would have a store except for its outlet stores.
