I don't care whether it's a chain or not, Jason's Deli is the bomb and I can't wait for them to open here in Asheville. No trans-fat, no msg, no high fructose corn syrup in their food. (And hopefully no surly "I'm so much cooler than you" waitstaff as in so many restaurants here.)
Their food always tastes fresh and wonderful, I was hooked on them in CLT. Anytime I'm within a reasonable distance from a Jason's, I stop in. Try the brownies . . . omg they're good.
Now, if only we could get a Cheesecake Factory . . .
Chains are chains . . .
From their website, it looks like another chain without local owners. I’ll continue to support businesses (franchise, chain or independent) which are owned and operated by locals (Atlanta Bread, Jersey Mike’s, Moe’s for example).
Are there not multiple routes of the new I-26 connector that go through Westgate? If so, why would they build a new building there? I assume it is going on the site where the small bank was located that was torn down recently.
After speaking with Jason’s Deli PR, looks like the deli is going there at Westgate and they hope to have it open sometime in July or August.
I love Jason’s Deli – they have a great buffet.
I hope it does OK. I went to one in ATL and it was busy and also not clean.
They do sell top brand deli meats to go on sandwiches.
Ash, yes, VERY good. I always hit up the one in Atlanta or Greenville when passing through. For a chain deli it can’t be beat. Oh and they have free soft serve ice cream!
What’s up (or down) with the project on Haywood Road in W Avl where St. Joan of Arc used to be? Haven’t seen any action in quite some time.
