Ashvegas’ ‘beermuda triangle’

The Beer Guy got some good press from the Atlanta newspaper last week, when a columnist wrote about his recent visit to Ashvegas to hook up with the Beer Guy and sample some local brews.

A few weeks ago, I went to Asheville, N.C., where I met Tony Kiss, who writes “The Beer Guy” column for the Asheville Citizen-Times. Kiss is also the entertainment editor for the paper, and he recently wrote an article describing what he calls Asheville’s “Beermuda Triangle.”
It’s a lively downtown zone that’s home to four breweries: French Broad Brewery; Green Man Ales and Brewery; Asheville Brewing Co.; and Highland Brewing Co. All but Highland have happening taprooms, with food, and often music, adding to the convivial vibe.
