Asheville Tourists ace Christian Friedrich won’t be long for Asheville:

Christian Friedrich improved to 2-1 for Low-A Asheville on Thursday after allowing two runs on five hits in six innings. He walked two batters and struck out 10.
Our View: Friedrich’s was Colorado’s first-round pick in 2008, and he has dominating in the early going against lesser competition. He currently has a 35/6 K/BB ratio in 23 innings with a 1.17 ERA. A promotion to High-A should be coming soon.

He’s no Jhoulys Chacin. And the Rockies aren’t prone to promoting players this early in the season. Even Chacin, who was the minor league Pitcher of the Year last year didn’t go to Modesto until the All-Star break.
