Here are the Asheville Tea Party resolutions for 2010:

  1. Stop the government takeover of hospitals, the enslavement of doctors, and the destruction of the best health care system in the world.
  2. Stop the carbon tax and the nationalization of the energy and transportation sectors of the economy. Drill baby drill. Build more refineries, and (thanks to Erick at RedState) build more safe, clean, efficient nuclear power plants.
  3. Fire the would-be tyrants who are trying to take away our right to a government of, by, and for the people.
  4. Demand fiscal responsibility at all levels of government. During hard times the bureaucrats need to cut back spending like the rest of us have to do.
  5. Roll back the onerous regulations and crushing taxes which are killing small businesses and making it impossible to start new ones.
  6. Vote the socialists, fascists, and power-hungry elitists out of office.
  7. Replace them with people who actually understand the proper role of government in a free society and who will support and defend the U.S. Constitution.
  8. Fight for our rights – including property rights – wherever and whenever they are threatened.
  9. Get our individual houses in order that we may be better prepared for the battles which are sure to intensify this year.
  • Be secure in the knowledge that we are keeping the flame of 1776 alive.

Its funny when approached with what the 911 project or Tea parties opposing views can only fall back on the Tea bagging comment . . . Classy.

If the healthcare bill is so great, then why are the members of Congress not including themselves in the legislation? If it’s so great, should they not want to be a part of it? They are taking OUR MONEY!!! They are not sharing their profits with us. They are confiscating the results of our labor. It all boils down to the fact that if they don’t want a part of it, then it’s not a good deal.

Build a prosperous nation and the world will beat a path to your door in order to share that prosperity. For there to be an equitable share, two things must happen. First, the governing system of the prosperous nation must change. Second, the means of creating prosperity must cease. This happened in America. The people elected a criminal enterprise to manage their economy, and worshipped those who wanted to share in the nation’s prosperity as their rulers. Organized crime settled in Washington, D.C. to spread the wealth for their followers. Their leader has assumed the mantle of Messiah, the great redistributor to the world, the elite of elites who shall rule. The world will be pleased with their gifts and the creators of prosperity chained, never to rise again, until the treasure disappears. It will then be the will of the world to find another nation to plunder, and another Messiah to follow. Such is the way of the world, which, until now, was never the way of the New World. Ash- over the past few months you seemed to have spent a lot of time on teabaggers. What’s up with that? They make for compelling and colorful pictures, but….

Sigh. Let tea bagging go back to it’s former definition and let the displaced Reaganites go the way of the dodo.

      Yeesh.

"4 Demand fiscal responsibility at all levels of government. During hard times the bureaucrats need to cut back spending like the rest of us have to do."

what should Asheville city or Buncombe county cut, knowing that we already are lacking infrastructure issues possible all over – the biggest blunder I’ve seen them make is using stimulus $$ on a side walk on beaverdam road, not that it’s a bad idea, but other roads need sidewalks first, 2nd biggest blunder and waste is traffic calming, 3rd would be those little red pads they placed on what could be called sidewalks up and down merrimon

as for the rest of the points, let’s ignore for now
