Asheville show of the week: War on Drugs @ the Grey Eagle

I’m hearing lots of buzz about the War on Drugs show Wednesday at the Grey Eagle. Here’s more insight from Matt at Harvest Record, whose musical taste I accept without question. If he says a band is damn good, then they’re damn good. Note the local connections:

Wanted to give a heads up to a fine fine show we are putting on this Wednesday at The Grey Eagle.  The War on Drugs (from philadelphia) w/ Purling Hiss & Carter Tanton.  Fantastic band who recorded part of their new record, “Slave Ambient”, at Echo Mountain here in this fine town.  Also, Kim Roney (ashevillefm braintrust, pal from college) did some recording on the record.  On the Ashevillefm note, they will be simulcasting the show as well…you can check it out on their site, ashevillefm.org.  One of our favorite bands for sure, The War on Drugs are not to be missed!!!!
