I think a camping trip with a big hippi turnout would be awsome. little camp fires everywhere with food drinks and smoke, enjoying the freedom in the outdoors. sounds like a weekend eutopia to me
Seriously? Where in my comment do I say anything positive about the people or the event, other than to point out that Max's comment about how it took place when "most folks were working" was clearly bullshit?
I'm not in the video, I don't know anyone in the video, and I actually agree that by posting it without commentary this blog is helping feed existing stereotypes about Asheville. That doesn't mean you need to make snotty little comments about the people in it, though.
Dude in the loincloth is really bringing it.
I'm guessing that Nate is the one in the blue tights.
So Nate, which one are you?
I wondered the same thing about this video. It may not even be from Asheville. Please post at least some info.
For God sakes, I hope it's not local. This is pretty bad.
May 1st was a Sunday, Max. Do "most folks" work on Sunday?
Also, Ash … do you just post any YouTube video that comes up on your "Asheville" Google News Alerts? It would be nice if there was even one sentence of context to accompany a post like this . . .
Oh my. No wonder the rest of the world hates us.
Not a pretty scene.
Oh dear God! Let me guess. This was shot while most folks were working?
What's interesting, and slightly sad too, is to watch video clips like this one and see how many of these "hippies" are really getting on in years now. Many of them are clearly in their 30's and 40's — just look at the guts on some of them. Certainly not the young, Woodstock generation hippies of past generations, but still a bit like lost souls. What do they do the rest of the time?
