Here’s the nice note from loyal reader Heather:

I am creating an event called Asheville Chocolate and Arts Festival, here at the Civic Center in December 2012. The event will be World music, dance, and arts including hip hop, Tango, West African Dance, Bellydance, Aztec Dance, Reggae Afro-beat music, Cherokee Dance and arts, to name a few. There will be music and dance workshops, kids events, a live music fashion show featuring local designers and models ages 7 to 70. And of course the crowning feature, chocolate samples and tasting by 10 local Asheville Chocolate makers from the Asheville Chocolate Lounge to Worlds best Carrot Cake (chocolate of course).

The purpose of the event is really to bring together and celebrate the diverse communities of Asheville through the arts. We will also have some special guests: Gullah basket weavers from Charleston SC, and a Haitian artist from Atlanta will be doing an exhibit. The event is on December 8, 2012 at the Asheville Civic Center and tickets are $20 which includes 3 chocolate sampling tickets and all performances and workshops.
