Asheville Chili Cook-Off to benefit Asheville Humane Society

The inaugural Asheville Chili Cook-Off to benefit the Asheville Humane Society is set to take place from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on November 7, 2009 at Windows on the Park, One North Pack Square in downtown Asheville.

Sponsored by the Asheville Humane Society, Windows on the Park, Eyecon Imaging Web Design and Asheville Historic Trolley Tours, the competition, featuring both meat and vegetarian chili, will cost competitors $25 per entry. Entrance to the event is free with a requested $5.00 donation or a comparably-valued new pet supply donation.

Attendees will enjoy all of the entries, a beverage and will receive a raffle ticket to win door prizes such as dog grooming certificates, complimentary massages, a bicycle tune-up from Hearn’s Cycling and gift certificates to Asheville Pizza & Brewing, Circle in the Square and Barley’s Taproom.

Awards for those entering the cook-off will include Best Table Decoration, People’s Choice Award and Overall Winner. The top prize will be a $150.00 gift certificate to Cucina 24.
