catawba_brewing_2014If I were going to one beer dinner during this Asheville Beer Week, this is the one I would attend. You couldn’t ask for a better pairing than Chef Steven Goff’s food and Catawba’s brew. (I attended a Blind Pig Dinner out at Hickory Nut Gap a couple of years ago – it is a beautiful setting for a delicious dinner.) Deets:

Hickory Nut Gap Farm Dinner w/ Catawba Brewing Co & the King James Pour House

At the base of Berry Hill on Hickory Nut Gap Farm, a farm to table dinner is in the works. To be a part of it, and we do want you to be a part of it, you’ll drive out to the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, park in the pasture, and walk across the Locust Bridge over Ashworth Creek to the shade of the willow trees. Here you’ll be invited to begin the evening with expertly crafted charcuterie plates paired with some of Asheville’s finest hand crafted beer. This is not just a beer dinner. No, this is the essence of farm to table. The meat’s raised on the surrounding hills, Chef Steven Goff is bringing his King James Public House kitchen to the farm, and Catawba Brewing Company’s pouring fine hand crafted ales perfectly suited for each course. Two long tables, four courses paired with four beers, and 75 food & beer enthusiasts. Please join us for this unique farm dinner presented by Hickory Nut Gap Farm, Catawba Brewing Company, & the King James Public House. Tickets are limited, so please purchase them in advance. There will also be a shuttle option that is to be arranged through Asheville Brews Cruise. Please contact the Brews Cruise directly to purchase a seat on their bus. The event will begin with a short Farm Tour at 5 pm, please bring your galoshes if you wish to join the tour!
