Here’s the press release from loyal reader Jason of Night’s Bright Colors. I absolutely loved the last project, Absinthe Mourning. If you haven’t listened, you really must. Here’s the news:
Announcing the new album from Asheville-based indie-pop group Night’s Bright Colors
Patient Notes is the last entry in the “Hospital” quartet of albums that began in 2006 with Love in the Asylum. Again exploring themes of memory, medication, and ultimately redemption, the disc continues the loose narrative of two people in a mental institution. The album is set for release May 2nd and can be downloaded for free (along with the previous 3 CDs) at www.nightsbrightcolors.com. There’s an interview with 98.1 The River this Sunday (4/25) at 6:00 pm (http://www.981theriver.com) for a sneak peek.
In other news, Absinthe Mourning will be released the same day at www.nightsbrightcolors.com/absinthe. Slightly more quiet/atmospheric, the album is a continuation of last year’s “Absinthe Twilight”, and combines instrumental and vocal fragments, different textures, etc. for a late night soundtrack in that constant battle against insomnia.
It’s always been Night’s Bright Colors policy to make music available to anyone who may want it. We’re not interested in selling anything, but feel free to download the entire “Hospital” and “Absinthe” series and help spread the word – tell your friends! All tracks are also available for instant audio streaming so go ahead, test the waters. Hope this finds you well, and thank you for all your kindness and support…
Whisper rock at its finest! Jason Smith is the real deal, great songwriter and an inventive musician.
