The Asheville Affiliates Announce “Expose Yourself to Brews and Views,” a Benefit for The Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy, to take place Thursday, November 4, 2010 from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

In their eleventh year of fundraising, The Asheville Affiliates partner with The Southern Appalachian Highland Conservancy to celebrate the organization’s achievements in  conservation of land and water. Highland Brewing will host the event in their new Tasting Room. The Mountain Express’ “Best Alt Country Band of 2010,” The Trainwreks, will perform with The Overflow Jug Band. Ritrovo Restaurant will cater with food donated from Hickory Nut Gap Farm, Flying Cloud Farm, and Harvest Organics. Highland Brewing Company, Catawba Valley Brewing, Turning Leaf Wine and The Green Sage Cafe are also sponsoring the event with beverages.

“It is increasingly important to participate in fundraising events for the life of our community,” says Jessica Hunter, President of The Asheville Affiliates board for 2010. “And The Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy is very effective at doing the important work of land and water conservation that protects our quality of life and vitality as a tourism driven economy.”

Tickets are limited and will be for sale for $30 at the door or $25 if purchased from The Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy’s website, appalachian.org, by calling their offices at (828) 253-0095 or through a reservation made from The Asheville Affiliates’ Facebook page.
