Really? I assumed it was just some local guy with a fairly common name.
Although it would explain the pretension and self righteousness in the statement.
Robert Hughes has spent the last decade basically screaming for attention as his celebrity waned, and essentially hates any artwork that isn’t pre industrial revolution.
But yes, I didn’t know that quote was his.
