Here’s a neat note I received from loyal reader Dara. The Heartstrings fundraiser for Project Access is coming right up, and I’ll let her make her plea. I’d just like to add that, yes, there was an incomprehensible tragedy recently in Haiti, and people are giving like never before to help out. But there are little tragedies right here in Asheville every day when a person right here in America can’t afford or get access to basic health care services. That’s all I’ll say.

Background here on Heartstrings event.

From Dara:

Hey Jason!

I love the blog!  I’ve always just been a reader/follower, but I think I’m ready to take the next step! Allow me to explain…

I know you already did a previous blog about Heartstrings, but I’m wondering if you can do me the massive favor of possibly putting in you blog the fact that I’m begging for donations!  I have hit up family, friends and co-workers for any denomination of dollars to donate, and have been unsuccessful.  At this very moment, I still have $0 to donate!  I’ve explained to everyone, that even if they can donate a dollar, it’s going to make a difference.  I’m running out of options!  I really don’t want to have to write a check to this charity for the $200 I’m supposed to raise.  (Really, b/c I’m a little fearful that it may bounce!)  Is there any way that you could help me out with possibly posting something in your blog to help me raise money?  I can take credit cards, checks and cash!  Here’s the link to the charity event, so everyone knows it’s legit and I’m not collecting money to take a lavish vacation.  Also, you can feel free to have anyone email [email protected] with any questions or inquiries about donating.  I know you said in a previous blog, that you knew what Crossfit Asheville was and how brutally gratifying it was to go there.  Well, being that I did it for 6 months, I too, know the beat down workouts they offer and also think prisoners in Guantanamo Bay get treated better.  Yet, I paid for this beating, and kept coming back.  Sorry, I still have reoccurring night terrors about some of the WOD’s and get side tracked.  Anyways, so I’ll be doing this work out to raise money for the charity.  Here’s where you could possibly come in like my knight on a white stallion.  If you could do this, it would be HUGE!  Keep up the banging blog!  Everyone loves it!

Thanks!
