Press release here from the campaign of Patsy Keever, the Buncombe County Democrat who ran against incumbent N.C. House Rep. Bruce Goforth. Keever beat Goforth in the primary, then Goforth up and quit. What a wussy move that was.

Press release:

Tonight the Buncombe County Democratic Party Executive Committee voted to recommend Patsy Keever to fill the North Carolina House of Representatives District 115 seat recently vacated by former Rep. Bruce Goforth. The Committee’s recommendation will be sent to Governor Perdue for her signature and official appointment of Keever to serve the remainder of the term.

Keever is currently campaigning for a full two-year term for the State House on a platform of creating quality jobs, renewing our local economy, ensuring that our children receive a quality education and preserving our mountain heritage. The General Election takes place on November 2 with early voting beginning October 14.

"Keever beat Goforth in the primary, then up and quit."

Sounds like Patsy up and quit. You might need a couple more words in that sentence.
