Hope all is well.  The Literacy Council is hosting its 3^rd annual Authors for Literacy Dinner and Silent Auction featuring New York Times bestselling author, John Hart, on August 27.  (John does have an Asheville connection.  His sister is Mary Hart of the Hart Law Group.)
