Actionfest gets more exciting by the day. From the Asheville Citizen-Times:

Mostly, it’s baseballs that are flying at Asheville’s McCormick Field ballpark. But on Thursday, the park becomes a launching pad for a nationally famous stuntman who soars with a rocket belt.

Kinnie Gibson will drop into the game on Thursday to promote this weekend’s ActionFest film festival at the Carolina Cinemas.

Known as the “Rocket Man,” Gibson flies with the use of a futuristic jet pack. He’s been seen on the “NCIC” TV series, at the SuperBowl, at 40 concerts by the late Michael Jackson, and in such movies as “RoboCop 2,” and “Delta Force 2.”

After his fly-in to McCormick Field, Gibson and other stunt professionals will appear at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Carolina Cinemas for a free demonstration.

At that event, the stuntmen will perform high falls, body burns, air rams, rappelling and more.

ActionFest will feature more than 20 high-octane movies starting Thursday at the Carolina Asheville. On Sunday, action film star Chuck Norris will be in Asheivlle to be given the festival’s Lifetime Achievement Award in an event at the Orange Peel. Look for an interview witih Gibson in Friday’s take5 entertainment section.
