SHORT BIO:  Across the high mountains of North Carolina comes the unmistakable voice of Shannon Whitworth, utterly unique in depth and character, offering an  absolutely  mesmeric listening experience. Evocative of the space between waking and sleep, Whitworth instinctively knows how to capture the listener completely, reaching directly to the heart. Her richly textured songs are transcendent of love and heartbreak, a spellbinding apparition saturated with grace. A talented songwriter and instrumentalist, Whitworth has dabbled throughout the Americana genre, originally the frontwoman in the acclaimed bluegrass/folk group The Biscuit Burners, and now a successful solo artist. Her first album, No Expectations, debuted in 2008; Whitworth will release her greatly anticipated sophomore effort in 2010.
