I would say there is actually a better than average chance of a mountain White Christmas this year. Granted a forecast 200 plus hours out is tricky, here are the facts. One, we’re in a cold pattern. Second, the southern storm track has been very active in recent weeks. Three, the long range models continue to show a winter weather system developing and approaching NC around Christmas. Granted, I would not go on TV this far out and lock in snow for Christmas but I do think there’s a decent chance! We’ll know in about 9 days!
huh, go back to the tape. Boyer, on the 6 p.m. newscast, absolutely did not say he could not predict that far out.
What he said was there’s very little chance of us having a white Christmas.
Correction: Not taking up for Jason Boyer, but that is absolutely not what he said. He said he was not going to predict that far out yet.
White Christmas…no thank you. 65 degrees and sunny…yes please.
