Economy did not close the businesses lately, a bad business model did.
No cash flow to pay your bills means you are running your business pay check to pay check.
Another words, to big for your own britches to start with.
I read somewhere (can’t remember where) that place was closing. I thought I’d read it on here, but I guess not!
Last week the AC-T noted that Rita’s had closed. Victim of the recession, I assume.
Beans and Berries is going to be terrific! Great coffee, drive through, and free parking. No quarters or towing.
Glad to see it is back and local owners too…
Beans and Berries was open this afternoon when I drove past, although I didn’t have time to stop.
Rita’s closed down several weeks ago. I noticed it about 3 weeks ago when I went for sushi next door. Sound’s like the bad econ took out another restaurant
It was closed on cinco de mayo too(!) There was a note on the door, stating that the gas supply had been disconnected. Apparently, there was a group from UNCA meeting there that night, and they’d left another note instructing people to meet at Bone Fish instead.
A couple issues ago the Mountain Xpress had said they had closed.
Bad food does not last long in this economy. We tried it once, then went back to Papa’s and Beer
Read somewhere that they are closing for good.
I’ve noticed Rita’s being closed this past Thursday and Monday. I’m guessing they’ve closed.
There was an article in the Asheville C-T recently about Rita’s being a victim of the economy and closing.
We tried to eat there a few weeks ago and the same thing – all closed up, not answering the phone, etc. We asked at the store next door to them this weekend and they said Rita’s closed about 3 weeks ago…but like you said, no sign, no notice, nothin’.
