U.S. Representative Heath Shuler will host a community dialogue with Majora Carter, a pioneer in green-collar job training, to discuss Western North Carolina’s ability to develop its workforce, grow its economy, and confront global climate change on Friday, March 27th in Asheville.

Rep. Shuler and Ms. Carter will be joined on Friday by North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Walter Dalton, Asheville Mayor Terry Bellamy, AdvantageWest CEO Scott Hamilton, and other business, educational, and environmental leaders from across the region.

Dr. Carter will address the group before beginning the dialogue.

The discussion is part of Dr. Carter’s trip to WNC to speak at the Headwaters Gathering: Southern Appalachia at the Crossroads, a first annual conference hosted by Warren Wilson College.

What:   A discussion with local leaders on how WNC can strengthen its workforce and economy, while proactively addressing climate change.
