Insurance and Financial Advisor has the story:

Richmond, Va.-based Bankers Insurance LLC has announced plans to purchase the Hutton Vincent Williamson McLean Insurance Group, one of the oldest and largest independent agencies in western North Carolina.

The purchase would mark the 12th acquisition by Bankers Insurance since its inception in 1999 and the first outside of Virginia, according to the company.

Established in 2000 in Ashville, N.C., HVWM was formed through the merger of McLean Insurance, Schley and Williamson Insurance and Hutton-Vincent Insurance, three long-standing Asheville agencies. HVWM is currently led by the three principle owners of the three merged agencies – Jerry Vincent, Chip Williamson and Bill McLean – all of whom will retain an active role within the organization following the acquisition, according to Bankers.

The agency offers personal and commercial coverage through its 24 employees.

Vincent, CEO of the agency, said in a statement that the three along with their staff “are energized by the opportunity to become affiliated with Bankers Insurance.”
