Jason Sandford is a reporter, writer, blogger and photographer interested in all things Asheville.

With not so much as a peep, WLOSer Carolyn Ryan has departed the television station. Ryan came to Asheville in the spring of 2006. She graduated from Florida State in 2004 with a major in mass media. Here’s her work experience, not including her time in Asheville:

-Reporter: One woman band, responsible for shooting, writing, editing and fronting all stories live for the 5 and 10pm newscasts. Weekly live shots, including breaking news and feature stories. Host and produce a half hour public affairs show.

Tallahassee, FL

Oct.03-Dec. 04

-Reporter: One woman band, generated story ideas, wrote, and edited stories for 6 and 11pm newscasts. Produced daily news briefs. -Production Assistant: Camera operation, linear DVC-Pro editing for all broadcasts, floor direction and tape operation.

-Intern: Worked with stage crew, talent, edit bays, research and news desks. Assisted talent on shoots, interviews and movie premiers.

Dude, you all need to chill out. Why don’t you look in the mirror and focus on changing your OWN faults instead of trying to magnify everyone elses? GET A LIFE.

She was a better reporter than anchor, but she had a flair for the verrrrrrrrry dramatic at times (strongly emphasizing every other word and utilizing Shatnerlike pauses). I heard she left for Miami on her own terms. Good luck to her wherever she ends up.

Word is another reporter might be on the way out… my guess is Special K (Kassandra Pride). She has been pretty awful these last couple weeks, i.e. rehearsing on-air when Tammy was tossing to her live and talking to her cameraman at the top of a weekend show.

Jealous of what? Not sure what she accomplished anyone would be jealous of. There’s Carolyn or her boyfriend campaigning for Carolyn again. As always she has to resort to herself or friends to write nice things about her. After all she is her own biggest fan.

She didn’t get the boot at all. I heard her contract ran up and she told mngmt she didn’t want to sign another one. She’s apparently holding out for a better job in a bigger market that is closer to her family.

Jennifer and Jessica…your both obviously jealous. Carolyn is a very talented journalist. She always looked good and reported fairly and thoroughly. She’ll be greatly missed. Best of luck!

did she land another gig – or did the wLOSERS give her the boot? They have already ditched her off the WLOS website.

Also, I saw that Pat Simon is now lead anchor at a Shreveport, LA station.

Finally she left…I always curious why the even have she here..When she ancor sometimes it was so bad I change channel…
I hope WLOS only brings a good ones now…
