The local newspaper reported this weekend that a man rammed a police car:

ASHEVILLE — A man rammed an Asheville Police Department cruiser multiple times Saturday morning as police were attempting to stop him, authorities said.
Rashidah Muhammad Greene, 30, of 142 Stewart St. in Asheville, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon on a government official, possession with intent to sell and distribute cocaine and possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana, according to warrants filed at the Buncombe County Magistrate’s Office. Bond was set at $15,500.

The problem is that Rashidah is a woman, as the name might suggest. In the “comments” section that appears with the online story, several readers also noted the factual error. One reader even provided a link to help. But so far, there’s been no correction in print, and the story online remains incorrect.

Sheesh. For all of the lamentations from newspaper people related to online content threatening the sustainability of print news, I wonder if they are just perpetuating their own demise with this type of delegitimizing work.
