The route for this year’s annual Christmas parade through downtown Ashvegas is shorter this year than in year’s past. That’s because parade entrants won’t be allowed to line up down Smoky Park Bridge like they have in years past.

Instead of lining up on the bridge and starting the parade at the Clingman intersection with Patton, the parade will line up from about the Federal Building on back to keep floats and marchers off the bridge. Word on the street is that DOT said no more lining up on the bridge. Why this year, we have no idea.

I will miss the line-up off the highway. That made for fantastic photos. Alas.
