This event is happening at Mobilia in downtown Ashvegas:

Eighteen Asheville artists have created individually-designed mobiles using materials ranging from blown glass to bent aluminum to origami paper for the first annual MOBILES over Asheville gala.

The fundraising event on Nov. 15th will support the Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center.

The evening begings at 6:30 pm with an Artist’s Reception with live music, food prepared by Zambra and handcrafted beer by Pisgah Brewing Co. At 7:30 pm, festivities turn to a Live Auction with Auctioneer John Hill. Admission is $15 – For Advance Tickets + Info, call 350-8484.

Almost 50 years ago, Black Mountain College closed its doors, yet its recognized importance and impact on world culture still resonates. The Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center offers a glimpse into the spirit of the revolutionary liberal arts college where learning was based upon a strong sense of community, free inquiry, creativity and experimental vision.
