Here’s a fun 5k to add to your calendar: At 5 p.m. on Nov. 10, runners will line up at Asheville Brewing on Coxe Avenue and run through downtown and Montford to benefit the Asheville Police Department and Asheville Fire Department.

Runners are encouraged to hulk out, don a cape, wrestle on those mighty tights and come dressed as their favorite superhero. There will be a prize for the best costume, and everbody will receive beer coupons and pizza slices after the race.

Register online at here. Registration fees are $25 mail-in, $23 online, $30 packet pick-up day, and $35 day of race. Strollers are welcome, but no dogs allowed.

Packet pick-up will be held at 77 Coxe Avenue from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 9. On race day, pick up your packet between 3 p.m. and 4:30 pm. Registration and pick-up will end at 4:30.

To volunteer, contact Leigh Rangel at [email protected].
