Jason Sandford
Jason Sandford is a reporter, writer, blogger and photographer interested in all things Asheville.

Hi there. My name’s Jason Sandford, and I blog here at Ashvegas.
To many of you, this has been obvious. Anybody with half a brain, the hook-up to the Internet tubes and a little thing we like to call “Google” could have figured this out. Many of you knew, but kept a little mystery going. Some of you don’t know me at all. So we’re here to say hello.
You’ve seen me at music concerts and festivals, camera in hand. You’ve seen me handing out bumper stickers and cards at Bele Chere. You seen me at photo meet-ups and blogger parties. I’ve never been “anonymous,” either in the blogosphere or here in Ashvegas, still the biggest small town in America.
I have fun poking fun. I like to be a little gossipy. I enjoy keeping an eye on local politics. Be assured that I won’t stop calling bullshit when I see it.
Why the so-called unveiling? I don’t know. Perhaps I was a bit inspired by blogger and friend Gordon at Scrutiny Hooligans, who was much more thoughtful and eloquent than I am here. I can say that I liked what he said about owning his words.
I’ve always seen this blog as a work in progress. An evolution. It’s changed over time as I’ve changed, and hopefully it will continue to grow and change. So this is just part of that.
To all of you readers, those of you who’ve blasted me with hate and those of you who’ve given me so much love and encouragement, I hope you keep reading. I’m thankful for your patronage.
That’s enough by way of exposition. As someone once famously said of explanation – your friends don’t need it, and your enemies won’t believe it. But if you want more, you might check out this week’s edition of Mountain Xpress.
Now back to business. My blog. My rules.
