River Sculpture Festival kicks off Sept. 1

One of the coolest art exhibits in Ashvegas kicks off this weekend with the second River Sculpture Festival, a display of sculpture outside in French Broad River Park. The display will open Sept. 1. Also, there will be satellite exhibits in other parks and around the city, and it will include light and sound sculptures.

Go to www.riversculpture.com for more details. Rob Wikler is the curator of the event. The City of Asheville Parks and Recreation Department, the YMI Cultural Center and the Asheville Area Arts Council sponsor the event.
