What’s in the news on a Saturday: an anti-drug walk and some other stuff

Honestly, there wasn’t much. Kassandra Pride covered an Arden neighborhood’s walk against drug crime. The Ducker Road group has been active in closing down crack houses and such in their neighborhood, she said. Mayor Terry Bellamy was there, as was Sheriff Van Duncan.

Also, the 30th annual Sourwood Festival brought a bunch of people out to Black Mountain. Henderson County cops want to find a suspect in a domestic abuse situation. There was a housing fair at the First Baptist Church in Asheville to help people find affordable housing.

The Little Green Giant Slayer race car made an appearance at Earth Fare in Ashvegas. It runs on ethanol. The Organic Racing Team wants people to eat healthy foods and they say their race car doesn’t leave any carbon footprint. The annual Rock the River raft race and festival was held Saturday.
