Somebody commenting on The Vent over at the Media Chatter web site asks if somebody’s been fired at 99.9 KISS FM:

I understand the axe has fallen again at Clear Channel Asheville. Half the morning team, Chuck Marsh out, and several others!

Anybody know anything? We’re actually hoping this is true. Nothing is more tiresome that Chuck’s stupid redneck jokes. He and Drew have zero chemistry and simply fall back on tired and lame material to try and make their morning show work.

Don’t worry about Chuck, though. He’s already been appearing in endless car commercials on WLOS, yelling at us about cheap cars. He’s also gotten into the promotion business and has brought several country acts to town.

This is a pretty funny article considering Drew and Chuck had a 20 plus share on Kiss – The biggest ratings that station has EVER had! word is that Chuck left to launch a morning show in Greensboro, NC. He’s already beat Clear Channel’s country WTQR. He was no canned, he left because he got tired of working with Drew "I’m better than you" Montgomery. The numbers after he left dropped by 6 shares. So much for Chuck’s stupid redneck jokes. I guess some of us liked them!!!

I liked Chuck, he has a "Larry The Cable Guy" kind of persona. I’m sorry he’s gone but I’m glad he’s doing well. The Kiss Country Morning Show definately needs a second person in it though.
