In a little Sunday news, Kassandra “Special K” Pride went to a memorial service for Kennedy Frye, the little girl killed last Tuesday in a wreck in McDowell County.

Pride rehashed the old news and talked to Pine Branch Baptist Church pastor Steven Williams, who had some nice things to say about the family and the girl who died. Pride said the girl’s mother and grandmother are still in the hospital, and they still don’t know she’s dead. Pride says there’s a web site for the little girl, too.

In other news, it was a pretty day in Ashvegas with a high of 50 degrees… ABCCM is taking in any homeless people that need a place to stay… Some Skyland Fire Department trainees learned how to drive a fire truck… And the Mills River town council will continue a public hearing Monday on a proposed development. WLOSers just said a “developer” was proposing to build homes and townhomes on nearly 100 acres off Turnpike Road. The developer happens to be Biltmore Farms, and WLOSers should know, since they operate out of Biltmore Park.

Finally, WLOSers said Grammy winners Sweet Honey and the Rock performed as part of the Bravo Concerts series Sunday at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium.
